這樣一位孩子
哪怕絕望的到來，他也在期待
這樣一個時辰
這孩子在萬頭攢動的公社裡才更無助。

這樣一位孩子
看見公社裡衝出瘋狂的時代列車
公社裡的母親正為另一名孩子授乳
這樣一個時辰
這孩子聽到了他自己的吼聲
猛然間他已在荒涼裡拔節、成熟。

這樣一位孩子
哪怕絕望的到來，他也不避開
這樣一個時辰
這公社裡全是人的絕望
勞動者的腰被份內的果實壓彎
這孩子獨自到天空下捧出自己年輕的臉。

A child like this
Though despair overtakes him, he still anticipates
A time like this
In a teeming commune, the child grows ever more helpless.

A child like this
Sees the train of the times run headlong from the commune
The mother of the commune gives is breastfeeding another child
A time like this
The child hears his own howling
Finds that he has put out leaves and ripened in a wasteland.

A child like this
Though despair overtakes him, does not evade
A time like this
The commune fills with human despair
Waists of laborers bend with the fruits of their labors
The lone child walks beneath the sky, bearing forth his youthful face.
