时光荏苒如白驹过隙，白纸运动已经发生三周年了。三年前，人们并不是因为平静而走上街头，而是因为愤怒、悲伤和不再能够忍受的现实。
那是极端封控的年代。铁栏封住了楼门，钢板封住了街道，数以亿计的人被困在家中，失去就医、失去工作、失去食物、失去自由，失去作为人的基本尊严。一个个荒诞的命令与悲剧，把普通人逼到不能再沉默。
他们举起的白纸并不是象征沉默，而是象征一种被压抑到极限后的拒绝。没有口号、没有标语，但每张白纸都在指向同一个问题：这种无声的痛苦究竟还要持续多久？当言论被封锁，只剩下空白能够表达。
三年过去了，我们仍然记得那一夜的街头。记得那些不愿再麻木的人站成一排，记得那份突破恐惧的勇气。白纸运动的意义，从来不在于持续多久，而在于它让人们第一次清楚地意识到：当生活被逼到绝境，普通人也能站出来，告诉世界“不可以”。
然而，悲剧的根源不仅在于疫情本身，更在于中共极端的封控政策和对民众生命权利的漠视。中共一纸命令、一张封条就可以践踏基本的人权。那些荒诞和无情，让人们明白：制度的不公，比病毒更可怕。当权力失去制衡，公民的声音被压制时，社会就会付出惨重代价。
白纸已经不再只是纸张，它承载着抗争、承载着对正义的渴望，承载着对中共专制谴责。
纪念那段痛苦的经历，是为了铭记我们的绝望与勇气，也是为了争取自由的未来。
愿历史记住这一切，也愿勇气与你我同在。
Commemorating the Third Anniversary of the White Paper Movement — May Courage Always Be with You
Time has flown by like a fleeting horse, and it has now been three years since the White Paper Movement. Three years ago, people did not take to the streets because they were calm, but because of anger, grief, and a reality they could no longer endure.
It was an era of extreme lockdowns. Iron fences sealed the entrances of buildings, steel plates blocked the streets, and hundreds of millions of people were trapped in their homes—losing access to medical care, losing their jobs, losing food, losing freedom, and losing the basic dignity of being human. One absurd order after another, one tragedy after another, pushed ordinary people to the point where silence was no longer possible.
The white papers they held up did not symbolize silence, but a refusal born from repression pushed to its limit. There were no slogans and no banners, yet every sheet of white paper pointed to the same question: How much longer must this silent suffering continue? When speech is sealed off, only a blank page remains to express what cannot be said.
Three years have passed, and we still remember the streets that night. We remember those who refused to remain numb standing in a line, and we remember the courage that broke through fear. The meaning of the White Paper Movement never lay in how long it lasted, but in the fact that it made people realize for the first time: when life is pushed to a dead end, ordinary people can still stand up and tell the world “No.”
However, the root of the tragedy was not the pandemic itself, but the Chinese Communist Party’s extreme lockdown policies and its disregard for the lives and rights of the people. With a single order or a single seal, the CCP could trample upon basic human rights. Those absurdities and cruelties made people understand that systemic injustice is more terrifying than a virus. When power lacks checks and balances and citizens’ voices are suppressed, society pays a devastating price.
The white paper is no longer just paper; it carries resistance, the longing for justice, and the condemnation of the CCP’s authoritarian rule. To remember that painful period is to remember both our despair and our courage, and to continue striving for a future of freedom.
May history remember all of this, and may courage remain with you and me.
